Below is the text of Bill HR 5319, known as the Deleting Online Predators Act of 2006, also known as the DOPA Act. This was passed by the House of Representatives in on July 26 2006 at a vote of 410 (yes) to 15 (no).
This biill needs to go before the Senate and be passed before it becomes law.

Looks like the industry dodged a bullet for now. The Senate has not voted on this bill. From my understanding, they are all gone for elections and no major congressional actions are scheduled for the rest of the year. In addition, if I understand things correctly, if this is not voted on in the senate before the end of 2006, the bill will be erased and the US House of representatives will need to start from scratch.

Congress is out of session for the rest of the year. It is unlikely this will be passed.
